DNC Tarumitra organized Van Mahotsav, a Tree
Plantation Drive on August 4, 2016 Thursday. Nearly 80 saplings were planted by the
students and staff. Fr Edward Mudavassery, SJ the rector of the college gave a
powerful and inspiring message on the importance of trees and the need to plant
them. Fr Zachaeus was the chief guest, he presented the saplings to the group
leaders who later along with their members marched raising eco slogans and
planted the saplings with great fervor and rigour. This drive envisages promoting
eco awareness in the campus. It is also an effort to add more greenery in the
already lush green campus. The students will take care of the plants for a
year. An environmental audit will be conducted to assess the growth of the
plants regularly. Fr Jacob the administrator with the help of the student
coordinators Schs Thambi and Ragu for DNC Tarumitra (Tree Plantation Drive)
made all the necessary arrangements for the event.
